Domain names
A domain name is the foundation of getting your business online. Owning a domain name means that a site can be addressed with your company name, or a name associated with your company, for example: www.company.com.au.
You can choose any domain name you like, but it must be unique. As someone else may have already registered it!
Domains are registered for a specific amount of time (years), after a certain date they will 'expire' in which they will become available for other people and/or companies to register. Owning a domain name is not a one-off payment.
Domain names also allow you to have a number of email addresses, such as: user@company.com.au.
ThePlanet offers individual email inboxes when purchasing a domain name, or a bulk of email addresses with a website hosting package.
